| 2008 - Marina Day & Boat Trip |
The 2008 boat trip was a featured event at two Clean Marina locations in Floirda:
- Habourtowne Marina in Dania Beach, benefited.over 64 children from Kids in Distress and area organ transplant families. Volunteers from the Broward County Transplant Support Group and the Transplant Foundation (Miami) worked with local fire and emergency preparedness agencies, U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary units and the Habourtowne Marina to prepare the event.. Instruction on boating safety and stewardship of the inter coastal was presented by local U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary units.
- Palm Cove Marina in Jacksonville hosted 22 children from organ transplant families. Displays and interactive demonstrations about the local waterway were presented by the St. Johns River Management District and the Florida Clean Water program.The U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary hosted a safety session before the trip, and later U.S. Navy divers gave demonstrations in the marina pool.The boat trip was a Marina Day activity. Etertainment was provided by volunteers and local clowns. Proceeds from the event were directed to the St. Andrews Lighthouse (a neighboring non-profit)
